Lightmotion pilot in The Hague completed, further development now accelerated

After a long process, the pilot in The Hague has officially come to an end. What began three years ago as a shared visionary ambition has come to an end. In those three years, great strides were made but, more importantly, a great deal was learned.

The municipality and Lightwell started the cooperation because both had the idea that system integration for public space with a view to Smart Cities is of great importance. The LightMotion, an integrated column with an EV charging point at the bottom, was the outcome of this vision development. The Hague naturally wanted a certified column, so the LightMotion engineering team set to work in collaboration with various partners, and the result was a column approved by the Dutch grid operators.

Then came the process of placement and management. The (administrative and organisational) obstacles that we encountered can be read in the final report. Thanks to the knowledge and experience gained, Lightwell is now in a position to take the next step. Studies and trajectories are now underway in various municipalities in order to realise LightMotion, after implementing the improvements made in The Hague, with a view to the city of the future. This city does not come about by chance, but is the result of years of innovation and development, and the LightMotion pilot project in The Hague proves that this takes a lot of energy and time, but is therefore of great value for the ultimate goal: an integrated mast for Smart City applications in public space.

Various new developments will be unveiled in the coming months. LightMotion will be applied at various locations, in cooperation with many ecosystem partners. So keep following the news via LinkedIn or the LightMotion website.
